From the estate of an old postmaster, here is a selection of his fine bow ties - he always wore one - hated traditional neckties. And, he really hated tying them himself.

You see, he needed a quick change - he was also a volunteer firefighter all his adult life. So the clip ties were best for him.

Now, his daughter continued to buy neckties for him - for special occasions. They never even made it into his closet.

These ties range in age from the Eames era through the early 1960s. They differ in style and fabric: most are cotton and rayon.

The metal clips on the back are from different suppliers: Ormond N.Y.C., Ormond Rust Resistant, Royal-Rust Resistant, JAMI Rust Resistant and Grip-Lock Rust Resistant.
