Spanish painter Diego Velázquez (1599-1660) is one of the greatest Baroque artists of the seventeen century. He studied with Herrera and Elder and was apprenticed to Francisco Pacheco in 1611.

At the age of 24, he became the court painter for King Philip IV in Madrid. His works are considered unmatched in their visual realism. Sixteen of his finest paintings are reproduced in this little booklet in self-stick seal format:
