Vintage tags like these were used to acknowledge the memorial flowers on a church's altar. On the front is place to list the name and address of the person that will be receiving the flowers after the service to help with delivery.
Inside, on the left, each tag reads:
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
On the right, the tag reads:
These Flowers have been of the altar of our Church. They have
heard the hymns that have been sung, the prayers that have been
offered and the sermon that has been preached. Now with their
silent message they come to you with our love and good wishes.
On the the back bottom right corner, it reads:
The first photo includes two tags - one open and one closed. The second photo is of the back of the tag.
Each tag measures 3-3/4 inches wide (when closed) by 1-13/16 inch high. It arrives with the original blue string.
Each package contains two vintage tags, both the same.
