Both sides of these are black. One side is matte and the other shiny. There is little embossing. The shiny side is is convex and the matte side concave - but ever so slightly.
Each window measures 1-1/4 by 1-1/8 inch. The peek-a-boo area is about 1in inch at the bottom for every window set.
