Saint Agatha was a young, beautiful and rich woman who devoted her life to God. Before she was martyred around 250 AD, she was sent by the cruel rulers to work in a brothel where she refused to accept customers.

She was punished severely and her torturers were so evil that they focused their torture on her breasts and made her roll on hot coals. Because of her terrifying sacrifice, she has become the Patron of those who suffer breast cancer.

Including the hanging loop, each medal measures 1 inch high by 5/8 inch wide.

Two medals are shown to illustrate the front and back.
