When we learned that there was a Patron Saint of Crows, we knew that we had to add him to our collection. Now, we can offer you a St Kevin medal as well. The medal measures 1 inch high including the loop by 5/8 inch wide.
According to legends, St Kevin loved to be around animals and the animals in turn loved to be with him. A famous poem by Nobel Winning Poet Seamus Heaney entitled, St. Kevin and the Blackbird, relays the story of one of these legends, in which a blackbird builds a nest and lays eggs in the hand of St Kevin. Being the animal lover that he is, he did not move his hand until after the eggs had hatched and the chicks flew off on their own.
