Delicately, but strongly executed, much like the dance it represents, this lovely charm features detail of one of Edgar Degas' most alluring paintings, Dancers at the Barre.
We see the lovely ballerina in the midst of her stretching exercises. Degas was fascinated by the ballet for most of his life. And some of his most powerful work, such as this one, was executed at the end of his career, around 1888.
The charm frame is sterling silver and is hallmarked as such. It measures a touch over 7/8 inch high (including the hanging link) and about 9/16 inch wide.
