Here is a quirky piece of 1980s nostalgia for your wall. This finished counted cross-stitch features a charming firefighter bear putting out a cigarette with the classic retro public health message: "Thank You For Not Smoking." Hand-stitched in the late 1980s from a published 1984 Janlynn design, this piece was professionally custom-framed behind glass by the Borelli-Edwards Art Gallery in Pittsburgh.
The frame is solid, real wood. It has picked up some natural wear and minor distress marks from moving over the years, giving it authentic vintage character without veering into overly "cutesy" territory. It is a wonderful, ready-to-hang piece of handmade needlework perfect for a retro office, a gallery wall, or anyone who appreciates vintage kitsch.
