Man Ray's photograph, Larmes (Tears) is reminiscent of a black-and-white film still. This cropped version of his work makes a stunning postcard. Because she is looking upward, we, too are inclined to look in the same direction, and wonder what is attracting her. This photo was taken soon after Ray's break up with his lover and assistant, Lee Miller.

The glass tears are actually on a mannequin, challenging the viewer to question reality and unreality in his still-life works.

This postcard features a cropped version of the larger image. The cropped image also appeared in a 1934 book of his images.
