Professional baby pictures were the rage in the 1920s. Still are.

Here are two early photos.

Usually photo choices were made either through a contact sheet (printing the negatives directly to paper). Indeed, some choices were made via the negatives themselves. Either way, this is a cute little #19.

The baby's photo on the left was taken in a fine department store in Albany, New York - the W.M. Whitney & Co. We suspect that this photo was from the 1950s.The photographer probably took many shots and this one is stamped #19 on the back (and on the front).

The right photo appears to be quite a bit older and features a baby sitting on an animal skin of some sort and holding a baby doll by its feet! There is no printing on the back. We're guessing that this photo was taken in the late 1920s or early 1930s.
