Oh! The possibilities for these great lenses. Each box of 3 dozen lenses is from the late 1940s or early 1950s. They were made in Japan originally for use as the lenses for sunglasses. But, they are perfect for use in jewelry and assemblage.
Because they are glass, they are fragile, but they are not delicate - we've not broken any yet. The convex shape is great for covering a secret in an assemblage or collage. Although they appear dark in the photo, they are surely transparent enough for your projects.
These golden amber lenses are 53mm at their widest and 63mm long and they arrive in their original packaging. We have not opened all of the boxes in order to preserver their vintage value, we are not sure if they are complete and unbroken. But, in the sample boxes we opened - all were present, individually wrapped and intact.
At less than 18 each, you'll be able to complete several projects with these great glass pieces. They also make great collectibles for anyone in the optical professions!
